"Your adventure is about to begin"

So its been a really long week and I'm glad its over! Saturday I worked 11 hours....why does that need to happen? But actually as much as it sucked, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  The morning went by really fast and I worked with really fun people. So time went by quicker than I was expecting! Oh...and remember how I work across the street from the Alamo and we get really top notch people into our store!? Ya....Saturday was full of them...and interestingly enough a lot of the great situations I came across had to do with me being LDS! This one guy...oh wow...first of all thought we worshiped David Smith....I corrected him.  Its Joseph...and we don't worship him. And then he didn't realize that we as Latter Day Saints believe (like most Christians) that Christ rose from the dead on the third day.  He just though we acknowledged Jesus as the son of God but not as our Savior.  He was weird! So I corrected him of all the things he was misinformed about! It actually was a good missionary experience! But needless to say he was still weird.  And then he told me that I needed to get paid extra for standing there and looking so good....awkward.  Stuff like that doesn't need to be said!

Oh! OH! And this lovely couple we have here!
Just the matching green shirts!
"I love Frank!"
"I love Jennifer!"
And not to mention the heart is made out of bandanna material.
With white pants?
Black converse.
I never want to be this couple!!!

But I skipped a day! Friday Aubrey and I closed together and after we decided that we would go to Rain Forest Cafe.  I honestly haven't been since I was maybe 12....so I was kind of excited.  Well...it being a Friday night we knew we would probably wait for a while....45 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!  So to fill our time...and to get away from the mass amounts of people waiting by the door, we decided to entertain ourselves in the gift shop! Seriously we were like little kids! There is so much stuff to play with in there!!!!!!! It would have been impossible not to play around! Its like they put all of that stuff in there to entertain people! So ya...we had a good time...but got bored quickly (naturally)!
The hat Aubrey is wearing would actually be a great snowboarding hat!
She's really thinking she should have bought it!
And it is freaking saweeet!

I didn't realize until after I took the picture that my Jamaican hat had eyes on top of it!!

Hahaha I can't look at this picture without laughing!
Why am I the way I am?! Aubrey just laughed at me because of my face!
I'm cool! That's all.

Ya..."Tracy the Tree" may or may not be looking down my shirt.
We don't know.

Oh A-Breezy! Such a "Major Cutie"!!

"Lisa, Party of 2! Please come to the rock, your adventure is about to begin!!"
Ya that's what they say over the intercom!
I for sure make that outfit look good!

Yowza! (We strategically placed the snake to look like that!)

I was hoping that if I kissed this giant stuffed frog that he would turn into my prince charming.
I was sorely mistaken.
Waste of a perfectly good kiss.

Well that was the excitement of my weekend! I GET TO GO HOME ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!  Just for a family reunion! And it's kind of sad....I will literally only be there for my reunion and then I will be heading back to Texas.  But I am so excited to see my family! Especially my niece and nephew! But I'm also excited to spend the weekend with all my extended family! We always have a good time together and I am blessed to have such a great family! So shout out to the Webster clan!!!!! But thanks to those that are still following my life as a 22 year old single LDS girl!  Loves Doves!!!

You Make My Dreams Come True!

I recently watched 500 Days of Summer....a real movie about how relationships really are.  If you haven't seen it, and are the type that loves fairy tales, happily ever after movies...it may not be the one for you! Jk Its a great movie! Super funny! But it is a very realistic movie! That's all! This song is in the movie and I love this song! It just makes my heart happy! Soooooo push play and enjoy the wonderment of this song as you read!

**This picture does no justice**
I saw this man the other day while working.
If you can't tell he has a bowl cut, rat tailmow hawk.
WORST HAIRCUT EVER!!!!!!!
Again...
**This picture does no justice**

The Alamo brought yet again something interesting into my life.
As I was working (as I am usually always doing)....this red monkey(?) in an Aladdin costume showed up.
And proceeded to dance around and pose in photos with small children.
Awkward.
This unknown creature was only in the plaza for about 5 minutes and then left.
So weird.

San Antonio is not only famous for the Alamo, but it is also famous for the river walk.  The river walk is lined with beautiful trees, a plethora of restaurants, and a couple gift shops of sorts.  The river walk also offers boat tours that take you on a tour of the whole river walk informing you of lots of tid bits of interesting facts. Aubrey and I finally made time to take a boat tour! It was really pretty and quite fun! And to top it all off there was this super cute 5 year old Hispanic boy sitting by us that loved us! Here are some pics of the experience!

Friday night after quite an enjoyable day at Del Sol....um...ya...we (as in Aubrey and I) decided that we would enjoy our evening by finding our local karaoke bar! Karaoke Cantina! Love it! Let's talk about it...so we are driving to the location of choice which, by the way, is in the ghetto (which is fine).  We pull into the parking lot and lets be honest, its pretty etch-a-sketch.  Some beater cars mixed with a bmw, and then this fabulous demolition derby look a like car.  We walk inside...it being a bar figured we would get IDed.  We did not.  We walked right in a took a seat and began to enjoy some karaoke! Typically great! Out of tune, off pitch, drunk, a little ghetto.....GREAT! Buuuuuut this by far may have been the best performance I have ever witnessed! This woman....oh this woman! So top notch! Yes she did have a mullet.  Yes she is wonderful at singing....um.  And YES we later discovered she is the owner of the previously mentioned fabulous demolition derby look a like car! Absolutely fabulous! Please...please enjoy this video of her great performance of the one and only Heart Breaker by Pat Benatar!

If you couldn't tell in the video I was completely and utterly shocked and baffled by her wonderful performance! Sooo...I took a picture of my face that I had the entire time! Don't mind the Miller Lite sign!
(I hope you can sense the sarcasm as I'm writing about her "wonderful" performance....)

On a completely different topic totally unrelated....I've decided Texas has lots of pretty clouds...in the words of Bob Ross (if you don't know who that is look him up, he use to have a painting show on like PBS, he painted "happy clouds"...)I like to think Texas has lots of "happy clouds".

Anyway....Aubrey and I got home taught on Monday! They actually didn't come to our home...we met them at the church and decided to be taught in the nursery room! And discovered the best thing about nursery! The  mini potty, and the mini chairs, and the mini sink.  Why am I not in nursery!? So I wanted to feel like a nursery child...and...I sat on the mini potty! It took a full squat to get on that potty! I got a good work out sitting down and then standing up!

Later that night we went to Chuy's! Probably our favorite Mexican restaurant that we have discovered here in SA! And they have the best Tres Leches cake! And did our waiter and his manager give us free Tres Leches? And then proceed to write their numbers in caramel? They sure did! Most cleaver way to give your number out! I ate their number....and then didn't call....ooops. My bad.  It was quite delectable though.

Yesterday Aubrey and I decided to go to the local art museum...The McNally art museum!  It was really cool! I'm really glad I took my art history class at UVU or I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did.  There were a lot of artist that I studied in that class and so it made it more enjoyable that I knew a lot of the artists and could relate to the pieces a bit more.  It was a little overwhelming though standing in front of pieces by Monet, Picasso, Manet, Cezanne, and Rodin. It was especially overwhelming standing in front of the actual "Waterlilies" by Monet.  It is an absolutely beautiful piece of art!

The Museum is actually an old home made into a museum and this house is absolutely beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous as well! I just kept thinking that I wanted to live there!

Its been a pretty good week! And....AND...great news! I get to go home next Tuesday for my family reunion! I am so excited to see my family and spend some time with them! I have 6 weeks left here in Texas and I'm getting excited to come back to Utah! This summer has been fun...but I'm ready to get out of this inferno they call Texas! Its rained twice in the 8 weeks we've been here...and I think there have only been maybe 5 days that it hasn't been 100 degrees...ugh...its too hot here! But I'm still enjoying it! And we are having a lot of fun! So the next time I blog it will probably be after I visit and return from my quick trip to Utah! Love and miss you all! Thanks for being a part of my life as a 22 year old single LDS girl!!

A Marvelous Day Off!

Aubrey and I have had today and yesterday off of work! And oh how marvelous it has been to not have to go to Del "Hole" as some people have liked to call it! Those people shall remain anonymous! So for our first day off we decided to make out way up to Austin! But on our way we decided to stop by the local (kinda) outlet mall! BEST OUTLETS I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!!  We ended up spending about 4 hours shopping our lives away and spending a little bit of money! Can I just list some of the stores that we encountered:
Victoria Secret
Juicy Couture
Betsey Johnson
J.Crew
Coach
Neiman Marcus
Gucci
Fendi
BCBG
Sperry
Nike
Sony
Ann Taylor
True Religion
Banana Republic
New York and Co.
and the list can go on!

I had a great time! I could have spend 10 more hours there!

Driving up to Austin there is a city called Kyle! So as I was driving I had Aubrey take a quick pic so I could send it to my brother! Who responded with "You should steal that sign!!" He is full of great ideas!  NOT!!!  So Aubrey and I were starving and had been told there was an amazing BBQ joint on the out skirts of Austin that we had to try! So we made the trek out there! When they said out skirts I think that was an understatement.  This place was literally in the middle of no where.  I even made the statement "is this restaurant and someone's house?"  because that's how I felt! There was no civilization any where in sight! So we pull up to the restaurant and it is legit! Pulling into the parking lot I, for the first time, that I was in Texas!  Dirt parking lot, log cabin feel to the building, smell of bbq on the fire! This place is called "The Salt Lick" and can I say for the record....BEST BBQ I'VE EVER HAD!!!!!  Melt in your mouth good meat! So full of flavor! Oh my goodness! I cannot believe how good this place was! All the meat is cooked on a stove over a fire! Like LEGIT bbq! They don't mess around! SO GOOD! yummmmmmmm!!!!!!!!

After indulging in the best bbq, we headed up to Austin!  There is this famous mural in Austin that has a frog on it and about it is says "Hi, How are you" If you have seen the movie "Whip It" you will know what I am talking about.  So we decided to find out where the mural is and take some pictures!

We didn't quite know what we wanted to do after that so we decide to get some shaved ice, park the car, walk around, and shop around some more!  There are a bunch of these antique shops and little boutiques so we enjoyed looking around and wishing we could have every thing in the stores!  It was a lot of fun!

After doing some antique and boutique shopping (or really just looking) we decided to go witness one of the most bizarre things ever! Under the Congress Street bridge resides North America's largest bat colony.  Under the bridge there are inch wide spacing joints where the bats live.  They all cram into these inch wide spaces, which is so crazy! They reside in Austin from March until November and then they migrate back to Mexico where they came from.  And every night around dusk you can watch the 1.5 MILLION bats venture out to feed for the evening.  The city has even made a small park/viewing area for people to sit and watch this bizarre phenomenon.  So we put a blanket on the grass and parked ourselves until the bats emerged.  Let's just say....watching these bats fly out from under the bridge is the weirdest, oddest, interesting, intriguing, grossest thing ever!  I have honestly never seen something so interesting.  These bats fly out in a continuous stream....it is so bizarre! They continuously streamed out for about 10 minutes non-stop.  I was in shock and awe! I just kept saying "Oh my gosh this is so weird!" But it was pretty cool! Very mind blowing for sure!  The pictures I took did no justice so I had to find some online!

We had an amazing 2 days off! So back to the 40 hour work week....ugh...suck fest 5000.  Not so stoked about that!  Thanks for being apart of my life as a 22 year old single LDS girl! Love you all!

A Little Texan 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day!!
I just want to say how proud I am to be an American! There is no place else I would rather live! We are so lucky as Americans to live in such an amazing country.  Even with all of its faults it is still a better place to be living than any where else! I am so grateful for all of the service men and women who fight day in and day out so that we can live in this amazing country! We would have a lot less freedom if it wasn't for them!

Annnnyyy who....Hello again from Texas....which I am not too happy with right now.  It is the 4th of July and I am not going to be seeing any...ANY...fireworks.  Seeing that Texas is in such a drought they have banned all fireworks in the city limits of San Antonio.....ewe.  I hate them for that.  So what did Aubrey and I do this evening? Well first of all we worked until 8 o'clock.  And then we got a Redbox (maybe the wrong Redbox because it was suuuuuuper weird), cuddled up on the couch and celebrated the 4th from our couch....cooooooool.....not. I missed Utah more than usual today.  So in celebration of my independence I shall blog! SaWEEEEEET!

This week was.....well....interesting.  Let's get to the point so I can move on without explanation.  Richard and   I broke up.  There isn't a whole lot to talk about there.  Other than, things were moving a little too fast for me and, having gotten a couple answers to prayers I realized that I wasn't 100% into the relationship, and I knew that there wouldn't be an extensive relationship past me being here for the summer.  So that's all. Let's move on.

So my store Del Sol is located on what we like to call the "Strip" of San Antonio....kind of like the strip in Vegas....except nothing like it at all!!!!  :)  On the "strip" you can find 1. The Alamo 2. Del Sol 3. Lots of t-shirt shops 4. San Antonio's Visitors Center 5.Ripley's Believe It or Not assorted attractions.  This assorted attractions includes a mirror maze, wax museum, haunted adventure, tomb raider, and Guinness world records museum.  SOOOOOO......Monday A-Breezy (Aubrey), Mel S. (Melissa...I hope you got the spice girls reference from that) and L-Cluff (myself) took a tiny trip down the strip to experience some of these so called attractions at the price of FREE (because one of the managers has a huge fat crush on melissa and so we get free stuff like "mini melts" aka "dippin' dots").

Here we have the worlds tallest man...and myself.
I surely did test my passion level.... UNCONTROLLABLE!!!! Ya that's right!!
 Aubrey just got sexy....sucka!
Me as the worlds fattest man.....uuuuhhhhhh......
Wednesday we decided on the first of our 2 days off together....to go hit up the local SIX FLAGS FIESTA TEXAS!!! What Up!!! So awesome! May I add that we WALKED onto every single ride! And rode literally  every ride that Six Flags can offer us! We also hit up the water section of the park where we waded in the Texas shaped wave pool...and floated down the lazy river! And thhhhhheeennnn.... we may or may not have taken an hour nap.....at the water park.......on their lounge chairs.....think what you want! It was great and much needed!  We ended our Six Flags experience with....A FUNNEL CAKE!!!!!! YUUMMMMMM! Aubrey had never had one...and needless to say she loved it!

Like I mentioned in one of my prior posts....we see some interesting things working across the street from the Alamo.... This day we just happen to get a free exercise session! This man here in this picture (which is not the best quality...my bad) is doing sit ups on a giant memorial of the Alamo.  Weird.

Texas does have some upsides to it! On the first friday of every month they turn an older historic part of San Antonio into this artsy fair type thing called...wait for it....First Friday! They have lots of little street vendors, live music, art galleries to go to, and cool stuff like that! Aubrey and I have gone both first friday's that we have been here and have thoroughly enjoyed it! Both times I have purchased some freaking sweeet vintage jewelry from some of the street vendors! This last friday, we stumbled upon this cool cook out/whatever! It felt like a small town BBQ or something! It was so cool! There was an old school jazz band singing in the background while the smell of hamburgers and bratwurst filled the air around us! So fun!

As we were walking back to our car to go home...we may have stumbled about the red-light district of San Antonio............umm....super sketchy? No never! Jk Yes, very etch-a-sketch!

When we got home our other roommate had some friends over after also going to First Friday....we were in our room minding our own business when we heard a disturbing sound...one of her friends was apparently sick....maybe intoxicated....we really don't know.  So here was our response to that....and then we proceed to just take more pictures because we were bored...and easily entertained.  So feast your eyes upon A-breezy and myself!

We got these super sweet ribbon/bands/belts for free! They made me feel like an Indian! That's all.

Saturday after work we decided to treat ourselves, because work had been CRRRRRAAAAZZZZYYYY! We had our busiest day in our store's history of being open that day! Needless to say by the end of the day I wanted to run in front of traffic as an excuse to not have to go back!  Soooooo we went and saw Transformers in 3D!!! AMAZING! If you haven't seen it....GO NOW! It was awesome!

On occasion, but mostly on Sunday's we have the privilege to get to listen to preachers outside in the plaza....most of them yell, which is quite scary and quite frankly probably scares more people away then it does make them want to be born again.  They are usually the same 3 or 4 men that we see....except today I saw someone new! More often than not they are preaching that everyone is going to Hell....which is whateve. To be honest I hate listening to them...they are rude, annoying, and have no idea what they are talking about.  Okay to a certain extent they do.  One of the men more than others is super rude.  We were walking to our car one day and he assumed we weren't Christians because we chose to ignore his bantering.  He then proceeded to say that we thought we were smart but we were "quite the opposite" and then tell us that we think we are so hot, but we aren't.  Rude!  Well today as I was walking I saw one of the men holding this sign, just sitting on the stone wall.  So what did I do? I pulled out my phone and proceeded to take a picture of him....was I discreet about it...no not at all! Oh well! Hope you're not on this list! haha  If so..."Hell awaits you" :)

Well I think that's all for this post! Thanks for reading and being a part of my life as a 22 year old single LDS girl!
